Bible Verses About Live

What does it mean to live simply, and why is it important? You might be surprised to learn that the Bible has a lot to say about this. It’s not the minimalist trend you’re thinking of, but rather a complete mental paradigm shift.

For our purposes, I’ll define simple living as living without world-love, believing God’s promise that heaven is on its way, and single-mindedly pursuing the kingdom of God.

If we truly trust that every effort we make in this life will be rewarded, we will act differently. Rather than striving to create our own empire, we will look to Jesus and aim our gaze at the goal set before us with single-minded devotion and tenacity.

The bible has a lot to say about how we should live our lives. In Matthew 6:19-21, Jesus tells us not to store up treasures on earth, but rather to seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. This is because our treasure is in heaven, where evil and rust cannot destroy it.

In 1 Timothy 6:6-8, Paul urges us to be content with what we have, because godliness with contentment is great gain. He goes on to say that those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

So why is living simply so important? Because it allows us to focus on the things that are truly important in life: God and his kingdom. It helps us to let go of the things of this world that will ultimately rust and decay, and instead hold onto the things that will last forever. When we live simply, we are free to pursue God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. And that is the best life we could ever hope for.
