A Powerful Healing Prayer for the Sick

When our health diminishes and our physical bodies break down, it is common for our spirit to follow. Sickness naturally discourages us and challenges our faith. In these times of discouragement and hopelessness, it is more important than ever to rely on our faith in God to heal us when doctors can’t.

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26 New International Version (NIV)

When faced with life-threatening health challenges to yourself or a loved one, don’t neglect to call on God, the all-powerful source of our health and strength.

A Prayer for Sick Family and Friends

At sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hands on each one, he healed them.

Luke 4:40 New International Version (NIV)

Pray this prayer today if you or your loved ones are sick and in need of physical healing:

Heavenly Father, I worship you and I praise your holy name. Thank you for loving us, your children. Lord, thank you for loving [name of person who needs healing]. Now, more than ever, [name] needs the touch of your healing hand.

I humbly ask that you touch [name]’s body and remove this sickness. Lord Jesus, your mercy is sufficient for us. We know that doctors cannot give life, but Lord, you are the true source of life.

The scripture says in Psalm 107:19-20 that if we cry out to the Lord in times of trouble, you will heal our distresses and rescue us from the grave. Precious Lord, please hear my cry and show us your merciful hand. I know that you can heal [name] and I believe that you will.

Great and mighty God, Jeremiah 32:17 says that there is nothing too hard for you. I submit to your will and place [name] in your hands. I have faith and I believe your word. Thank you Lord for your love, kindness, and mercy. This I pray in your mighty name.

Amen.

Conclusion

Remember that God knows your heart’s desire. But through the mouth, the heart speaks. Pray to God in times of sickness and believe in His healing power.

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Luke 6:45 New International Version (NIV)

Lastly, once you submit to God’s will, go forward in faith knowing that God can do anything. If God chooses not to heal this time, it’s not because he can’t do it. It’s because this sickness serves a greater purpose. Continue to seek a revelation from God so that His will may be fulfilled in your life even during times of illness. God bless you!
